Extended closure of I-35W off-ramp continues

North Tarrant Express

An extended closure of the off-ramp from northbound Interstate 35W to Northeast 33rd Street continues.

The closure, necessary due to ongoing freeway construction, began on Monday Sept. 28 and will continue until Monday Oct. 19, according to North Tarrant Express officials.

Traffic will be redirected to the previous exit at 28th Street. During the closure, all lanes of the northbound I-35W frontage road from Berner Street to 33rd Street will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to Dooling Street.

The work is part of the $1.4 billion North Tarrant Express 35W project, which includes a section currently ranked eighth on the state’s most congested roadway list along 6.5 miles of I-35W from north of Interstate 30 to north of Loop 820. The project area includes the I-35W/I-820 interchange in Fort Worth. When complete, the project will feature reconstructed main lanes and the addition of TEXpress managed lanes and will be complete in 2018.
