Fort Worth motorists can expect Forest Park Boulevard to be closed until Wednesday July 10 so crews can perform demolition activities on the West Seventh Street Bridge just west of downtown.

Northbound Forest Park motorists will be detoured to eastbound West 10th Street before turning left on Penn Street, left on West Fifth Street and back onto Forest Park.

Southbound Forest Park motorists will be detoured to eastbound West Fifth Street before turning right onto Penn Street, right on West 10th and back onto Forest Park.

The West Seventh Street Bridge connects downtown and the Cultural District. Through a partnership of the city of Fort Worth and Texas Department of Transportation, a new reinforced concrete bridge is being constructed. TxDOT designed the bridge with six arch spans across the Trinity River to improve safety and pedestrian access. The original bridge was built in 1913 and was extended in 1953 when the river was rechanneled.
