Fort Worth, The T announce holiday schedules

  A. Lee Graham Reporter   Most Fort Worth city offices, including City Hall, will close Wednesday Dec. 25 for Christmas Day. Emergency services will remain in operation.   But garbage pick-up days will change. Wednesday pick-up will shift to Thursday Dec. 26, with Thursday service moving to Friday Dec. 27 and Friday service moving to Saturday Dec. 28. Regular pickup schedules resume on Monday Dec. 30.   All residents are allowed two extra bags of garbage on their first pickup day following Christmas Day. The city’s three drop-off stations will be closed on Christmas Day, with the drop-off stations closing at 5 p.m. the day before the holiday. More information is available at 817-392-1234 or by emailing trash@fortworthtexas.gov.   The city’s environmental collection center follows regular hours, open to the public 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. All Fort Worth libraries will close at 2 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 24 and remain closed Wednesday Dec. 25.   On Dec. 24, all community centers, the Haws Athletic Center and late-night programs close at 6 p.m. Golf courses close at 3 p.m., while Log Cabin Village will close. On Dec. 25, all recreational facilities will be closed, but Fort Worth Botanic Garden grounds will be open. The Garden Center and Conservatory will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The Japanese Garden will close at noon on Christmas Eve and will be closed all day on Christmas Day.   Meanwhile, Fort Worth commuters can expect different bus, trolley and Trinity Railway Express schedules.   On Tuesday Dec. 24, the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) will operate regular schedules for bus service, Mobility Impaired Services (MITS), and Molly the Trolley, but bus service will end early after 7:15 p.m. departures from The T’s downtown Intermodal Transportation Center.   Trinity Railway Express will follow a regular weekday schedule. Those with questions may contact customer service from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the customer kiosk at the Intermodal Transportation Center planned to be staffed from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Administrative offices will close at 3 p.m.     On Christmas Day, riders can expect no bus, Molly the Trolley, MITS or TRE service.
