Goodwill to host three city-wide job fairs in Arlington, Fort Worth and Denton

30-plus employers and resource providers to attend each fair

Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth will host three city-wide job and resource fairs in Arlington, Fort Worth and Denton, where some employers will even be hiring on-the-spot, a news release announced.

The free and open to the public fairs will take place:

— From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at the Arlington Convention Center, located at 1200 Ballpark Way, Meeting Rooms 5-8, in Arlington

— From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at the Fort Worth Convention Center, located at 1201 Houston St., Meeting Room 202 A-D, in Fort Worth

— From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, and May 22 at the Embassy Suites Denton Convention Center, located at 3100 Town Center Trail, Triangle Room, in Denton

Goodwill is known as North America’s leading nonprofit provider of job training, employment placement services and other community-based programs. As part of the organization’s ongoing efforts, Goodwill Fort Worth is hosting these city-wide career fairs.

More than 30 employers and resource providers are expected to attend each fair, the release said.

According to the release, Goodwill Fort Worth staff will be onsite to assist with online applications and offer enrollment in Goodwill programs for people with barriers to employment such as lack of education or work experience, homelessness, veterans, at-risk youth, the disadvantaged and the disabled.

Goodwill is the largest employer of people with disabilities in the world, the release said, adding that the organization believes that work has the power to transform lives by building self-confidence, independence, creativity, trust and friendships.

Goodwill Fort Worth has 23 retail locations that support the organization’s job training and career services for people with disabilities, such as physical or mental disabilities, and other barriers to employment including lack of education or work experience and homelessness through their sales of donated items and clothing.
