Icelandair coming to DFW Airport May 2018

WOW Air isn’t the only Icelandic Airline making its debut in Dallas-Fort Worth, here comes Icelandair. The airline’s Dallas-Fort Worth International (DFW) to Reykjavik’s Keflavik International (KEF) service will begin in May 2018.

Icelandair’s service will connect North Texas travelers to Iceland, and more, year-round. This will be the airport’s 17th international carrier to serve Reykjavik.

“DFW Airport is pleased to provide our customers with additional choices when they fly across the Atlantic,” said Sean Donohue, CEO for DFW International Airport., in a news release. “Icelandair will offer our customers a full-service option whether traveling to Reykjavik, Scandinavia or some of the most popular destinations in Europe.”

Icelandair will offer its DFW to KEF service four times per week with a Boeing 757-200 airplane. From Reykjavik, travelers can continue on to more than 25 European destinations.

The inaugural flight will take place Wednesday, May 30, 2018. From then on, flights from KEF will depart at 5:15 p.m. (GMT) and arrive to DFW at 8:40 p.m. (CDT) on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays. and Sundays. Meanwhile, flights from DFW will depart at 5 p.m. (CDT) and arrive to KEF at 6 a.m. (GMT) on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Mondays.

The new DFW route will also open opportunities for European travelers wanting to explore the Dallas Fort Worth region and the great Lone Star state.
