About 690 employees of SouthStar LLC, a warehouse in Keller that supplies groceries to Kroger stores in North Texas have been laid off.
SouthStar LLC, in a WARN letter sent to the Texas Employment Commission, said that Kroger is the only customer of the facility located at 5801 Kroger Dr. in Keller and that the supermarket chain terminated its contract with Southstar.
In the WARN letter, SouthStar said Kroger’s actions were “unexpected” and that Kroger will be replacing SouthStar with another contractor on Dec. 10.
