Meadows named DFW Airport board chair

Bill Meadows, longtime area transportation leader and member of the Dallas Fort Worth International Board of Directors since 2014, was voted in as board chair by the board on Thursday, Feb. 1, and will serve a two-year term.

He succeeds Sam Coats, who will remain on the board temporarily, filling a vacancy from Dallas.

The board also voted in Fort Worth banker Henry Borbolla III as board secretary. Regina Montoya of Dallas, who was serving as board becretary, was voted in as board vice chair.

DFW Airport’s Board of Directors is composed of 12 members, 11 of whom are appointed by the city councils of the airport’s owner cities, Dallas and Fort Worth. Seven represent the city of Dallas and four represent the city of Fort Worth,

Meadows served four terms on the Fort Worth City Council, including an appointment as Mayor Pro Tem.

Besides his place on the DFW Airport Board of Directors, Meadows is the current chair of the North Texas High Speed Rail Commission. Previously, he was a member of the Texas Transportation Commission and a vice chair of the North Texas Tollway Authority Board of Directors. His prior service includes Tarrant County Regional Water District Advisory Board, Texas Water Development Board, and Region C Water Planning Group.
