More Interstate 35W closures set for this week

🕐 1 min read

Motorists can expect more closures this week as part of ongoing freeway construction.

The latest closures are scheduled to take place between 9 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 12 and 5 a.m. Thursday Aug. 13:

·         All lanes of northbound Interstate-35W just north of Meacham Boulevard will be closed.

·         The direct connectors from northbound I-35W to eastbound and westbound Loop 820 will be closed.

·         The on-ramp to northbound I-35W from McMillan Parkway will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to U.S. Highway 377.

·         The on-ramp to the eastbound TEXpress Loop 820 lanes from northbound I-35W will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to the entrance at U.S. 377 from the eastbound Loop 820 frontage road.

The construction is part of the $1.4 billion North Tarrant Express 35W project, which includes a section ranked eighth among the state’s most congested roadways. The 35W project includes the reconstruction of main lanes and the addition of TEXpress managed lanes and will be complete in 2018.

Drivers may visit www.northtarrantexpress.com for closure updates. Closures are subject to weather conditions, and construction activities may be postponed if necessary.
