Motorists can expect I-35W weekend closures

Fort Worth road closures are planned for this weekend.

Fort Worth road construction continues, with the following closures planned between Thursday Sept. 17 and Tuesday Sept. 22:

Thursday Sept. 17 – 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

· There will be a closure of the on-ramp to southbound I-35W from Meacham Boulevard. Traffic will be redirected to the previous entrance at Mark IV Parkway.

Friday Sept. 18 – 9 p.m. to 10 a.m.

· There will be a closure of the direct connector from westbound IH 820 to northbound I-35W. Traffic will be redirected to FM 156.

· Tentative: There will be a closure of all lanes of eastbound and westbound Meacham Boulevard at I-35W. Eastbound traffic will be redirected to 28thStreet and westbound traffic will be redirected to Mark IV Parkway.

Saturday Sept. 19 – 9 p.m. to 10 a.m.

· There will be a closure of the direct connector from westbound SH 121 to southbound I-35W. Traffic will be redirected to Carver Avenue.

Sunday Sept. 20 – 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

· There will be a closure of all lanes of northbound I-35W north of Meacham Boulevard. Traffic will be redirected to Denton Highway 377.

· There will be a closure of the direct connectors from northbound I-35W to eastbound and westbound IH 820. Traffic will be redirected to Denton Highway 377.

Construction is part of the $1.4 billion North Tarrant Express 35W project, which includes a section ranked eighth among the state’s most congested roadways. The 35W project includes the reconstruction of main lanes and the addition of TEXpress managed lanes and will be complete in 2018.
