GARLAND, Texas (AP) — A police chase in suburban Dallas has resulted in the death of a drug suspect and injuries to two others, including one person who was hit by a flying tire.

Garland police say a man led officers on a high-speed chase Wednesday morning after they were called to investigate a drug complaint.

During the pursuit, the suspect’s SUV hit another vehicle.

The suspect, whose name hasn’t been released, was ejected. He was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the vehicle hit by the suspect’s SUV suffered minor injuries.

A customer at an auto parts store near the accident scene was hit by a tire that flew off the SUV. The customer suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say marijuana was found inside the SUV.
