Overnight closures announced for I-35W

Fort Worth motorists should be aware of overnight closures planned for Interstate 35W, according to North Tarrant Express officials. They are as follows:

Thursday June 11 and Friday June 12, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

· Closure of direct connector from southbound I-35W to eastbound Loop 820. Traffic will be redirected to Meacham Boulevard.

Friday June 12, 9 p.m. to 10 a.m.

· Rolling (periodic) full freeway closure of direct connector from eastbound Loop 820 to southbound I-35W.

Saturday June 13 and Sunday June 14, 9 p.m. to 10 a.m.

· Closure of all lanes of westbound State Highway 121 at I-35W. Traffic will be redirected to Carver Avenue.

· Closure of direct connector from westbound State Highway 121 to southbound I-35W. Traffic will be redirected to Carver Avenue.

· Closure of the on-ramp to southbound I-35W from Pharr Street. Traffic will be redirected to the next entrance at Gilvin Street.

· Closure of the off-ramp from northbound I-35W at Pharr Street. Traffic will be redirected to Northside Drive-Yucca Avenue.

Monday June 15 and Tuesday June 16, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

· Closure of all lanes of northbound and southbound I-35W at 28th Street. Traffic will be redirected along the frontage roads.

· Closure of all lanes of eastbound and westbound 28th Street at I-35W. Eastbound traffic will be redirected to Northside Drive, and westbound traffic will be redirected to 33rdStreet.

· Rolling full freeway closure of direct connector from westbound SH 121 to southbound I-35W.

Drivers may visit www.northtarrantexpress.com for closure updates. Closures are subject to weather conditions, and construction activities may be postponed if necessary.

Construction along the freeway is part of the $1.4 billion North Tarrant Express 35W project, which includes a section ranked eighth among the state’s most congested roadways.

The 35W project includes the reconstruction of main lanes and the addition of TEXpress managed lanes and will be complete in 2018.
