Overnight I-35W/Loop 820 closures set for Friday, Saturday

🕐 1 min read

Fort Worth motorists can expect more closures – and reopened roadways – this weekend, with the following overnight closures set from 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. Friday Aug. 7 and Saturday Aug. 8:

· All lanes of eastbound Loop 820 at Interstate 35W will be closed.

· Direct connectors from northbound and southbound I-35W to eastbound Loop 820 will be closed. Traffic will be redirected to Meacham Boulevard.

The following openings will take place on Saturday Aug. 8:

· The off-ramp from southbound I-35W to 28th Street will reopen.

· The southbound I-35W frontage road from Dewey St. to 28th Street will reopen.

The construction is part of the $1.4 billion North Tarrant Express 35W project, which includes a section ranked eighth among the state’s most congested roadways. The 35W project includes the reconstruction of main lanes and the addition of TEXpress managed lanes and will be complete in 2018.

Drivers may visit for closure updates. Closures are subject to weather conditions, and construction activities may be postponed if necessary.
