Qatar Airways on Tuesday launched daily, non-stop service between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar.

The new route marks the carrier’s seventh U.S. gateway while bringing its global presence to144 destinations.

The North Texas airport marks Qatar’s second Texas destination. It joins Houston as a gateway between Qatar’ global network, via Doha, and Austin, San Antonio and Oklahoma City, among other Southwestern U.S. destinations, according to a news release from PR Newswire.

“Today we are delighted to welcome Dallas/Fort Worth into our expanding global network,” said Qatar CEO Akbar Al Baker, commenting in the news release.

“We are particularly pleased to begin serving the home city of our oneworld alliance partner American Airlines. Together, we can provide North Texas and the surrounding region with unparalleled service and better connections to Doha and around the world.”

D/FW Airport CEO Sean Donohue echoed that sentiment.

“Our partnership with Qatar Airways and today’s inaugural flight from Doha is exciting for the airport and the millions of passengers we serve,” Donohue said in the same news release.

The new route provides daily service between D/FW and Doha, leaving Doha at 8:10 a.m. and arriving into D/FW at 3:35 p.m. the same day. Overnight service to Doha departs D/FW at 8:00 p.m .and lands in Doha at 6:20 p.m. the following day.
