The North Texas airport marks Qatar’s second Texas destination. It joins Houston as a gateway between Qatar’ global network, via Doha, and Austin, San Antonio and Oklahoma City, among other Southwestern U.S. destinations, according to a news release from PR Newswire.

“Today we are delighted to welcome Dallas/Fort Worth into our expanding global network,” said Qatar CEO Akbar Al Baker, commenting in the news release.

“We are particularly pleased to begin serving the home city of our oneworld alliance partner American Airlines. Together, we can provide North Texas and the surrounding region with unparalleled service and better connections to Doha and around the world.”

D/FW Airport CEO Sean Donohue echoed that sentiment.
