FRISCO, Texas (AP) — A massive steam locomotive dubbed “Big Boy” has completed its slow journey to its new home about 30 miles north of Dallas.

The 1.2 million pound steam locomotive on Sunday finished a trek it had begun last week to the new location for the Museum of the American Railroad in Frisco.

Denise Stokes, a city of Frisco spokeswoman, said more than 100 people greeted the former Union Pacific Railroad locomotive as it pulled into its new home.

Rail traffic issues last week had delayed its arrival. Its journey began in Fair Park in Dallas and the locomotive had made it as far as nearby Irving before delaying its journey on Tuesday because of traffic along the rail lines it was using. The trip on Sunday took several hours to complete.
