Retail gasoline prices jump 3 cents this week across Texas

COPPELL, Texas (AP) — Retail gasoline prices across Texas have risen again, jumping by 3 cents.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average price at the pump rose to $1.63 per gallon. Nationwide gasoline prices are up 4 cents this week to reach an average $1.84 per gallon.

The AAA survey found that of the metro areas in Texas, drivers in Amarillo are paying the most at $1.78 per gallon while motorists in San Antonio are paying the least at $1.57.

AAA says the year so far has been characterized by lower-than-expected gas prices that have prompted a number of refineries to adjust their maintenance schedules while, in some instances, also cutting production in response to abundant supplies.
