Ryder Logistics expanding Fort Worth facilities, to add more than 200 jobs

Ryder Integrated Logistics Inc. is expanding its facilities in Fort Worth, creating more than 200 jobs with a capital investment of more than $5.2 million, the governor’s office announced Wednesday. A TEF grant offer of $1,050,000 has been extended to Ryder.

Gov. Greg Abbott today announced that Ryder Integrated Logistics Inc. will be expanding its facilities in Fort Worth to support its supply management, logistics, and transportation management operations. Ryder is a Fortune 500 transportation and supply chain management company that services more than 50,000 manufacturers and retailers nationwide. In 2000, the company opened a 42,200-square-foot facility at 13599 Park Vista Blvd. The expansion will add 25,500 square feet to meet growing demand.

“Texas continues to expand its presence on the global economic stage thanks to the growth of businesses like Ryder right here in the Lone Star State,” said Abbott.

In October, Ryder Logistics said it was considering an expansion of its facility in Fort Worth, and that the city was competing with a site in Michigan for the expansion. The council approved an incentive package to retain the current 347 jobs and create 200 new jobs over the next few years. The incentive provides a partial rebate of the new taxes generated by the expansion as long as Ryder meets all commitments under the agreement, city officials said at the time.

“The logistics industry is an important sector in what makes Fort Worth a smart place to do business,” Fort Worth Economic Development Director Robert Sturns said. “Logistics provider Ryder System has been located in Fort Worth for over 15 years, and we are pleased to partner with the state to retain 347 employees with competitive wages, and also, to help Ryder System create 200 additional new jobs in Fort Worth over the next seven years.”

Ryder Vice President and General Manager of Transportation Management Dave Belter noted the support from the area.

“The support we have received from the city of Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and the state of Texas has been outstanding. We look forward to a long standing and growing presence in Fort Worth,” he said.
