Southbound I-35W traffic switch moved to Wednesday night

North Tarrant Express

Motorists can expect a traffic shift beginning Wednesday night on southbound Interstate 35W from Texas 121 to Spur 280. The work was delayed from Tuesday night due to wet weather

The change will allow construction crews to work on ramps at Weatherford Street and Spur 280, which will be closed for about 6 months.

To perform the switch and prepare for construction activities on that stretch of freeway, the following closures will occur from 9 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 9 to 5 a.m. Thursday Nov. 10:

*  Long-term (about six months) closure of the southbound on-ramp to I-35W from Weatherford and Gilvin streets. Traffic will be redirected to Riverside Drive.
