Residents are invited to get in gear and join local businesses and Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price for the Southside Bike Ride. Set for 9 a.m. Saturday May 18, the family-friendly event promises five- and 8.8-mile routes coursing through Southside neighborhoods. Both rides roll out from One Safe Place, 777 W. Rosedale St. Other activities include a children’s bicycle rodeo, sponsor booths and vendors promoting family health and safety. Attendees can chat with city police, fire and bike patrol personnel while getting a firsthand look at the equipment they use on the job. Early registration may be completed online at http://fortworthtexas.gov/bikefw/, with same-day registration opening at 8:30 a.m. No registration fee is required. More event information, including a route map and sponsorship information, is available at http://fortworthtexas.gov/bikefw/.
