Celebrity chef Tim Love will be partnering with highway travel center operator Pilot Flying J to create signature food options for their locations across the country. Love will also be developing food items that focus on specialties and flavors of the Southwest for Pilot Flying J’s Southwest locations.
The goal of the partnership will be to create convenient and fresh food items for travelers, according to a company news release. Love stated in a news release that he had “always been a big fan of the brand,” and that there is “a need to challenge the status quo for those on-the-go and provide wholesome options.”
Pilot Flying J’s chief experience officer, Whitney Haslam Johnson, stated in a news release that “offering our guests a variety of fresh, quality food options is a top priority for us at Pilot Flying J. We hope to not only meet guests’ expectations, but exceed them, and partnering with Tim Love will absolutely help us achieve that.” Pilot Flying J is headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Love also stated in a news release that the partnership’s “mission will be to create nutritious options that are easy to carry and easy to eat — that criteria tends to be top of mind for most travelers, but hard to come by on the road.”
Love will be working with Pilot Flying J’s vice president of food innovation, Shannon Johnson, on the continued development of the PJ Fresh Marketplace brand. The PJ Fresh brand provides travelers with food options that are prepared in-store daily and can be taken on-the-go or as a sit down meal.
