With no federal clearance, TEXRail service delayed

TEXRail Dec. 31

Officials were all smiles Dec. 31, as they cut the ribbon on new TEXRail service from Fort Worth to the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Plans were for the rail line to be ready to roll on Saturday, Jan. 5 with free service through the first of February.

Alas, no.

Officials said late Friday that Trinity Metro TEXRail commuter rail service would not begin as planned on Saturday.

“Clearance has not been granted from the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) for TEXRail to operate along the entire 27-mile corridor,” a city news release said.
