Stage West receives Meadows grant

Stage West announced May 30 the theatre has received a grant award of $40,000 from The Meadows Foundation. The grant is designated towards the organization’s current season capacity expansion in which two new positions were added at the theatre – Business Manager and Education Director. These positions were filled by Mark Shum and Lark Wallis-Johnston, respectively. The one-year grant will support these two individuals’ salaries through the end of Stage West’s current 34th season. It also goes towards supporting the creation of three new educational programs and the addition of 1,000 more people to the theatre’s annual outreach goals.

Stage West has received two prior grant awards from The Meadows Foundation, in 2003 and 2008.

Since 2008, Stage West has finished every year firmly in-the-black and has also created a strategic reserve fund that, once fully funded, will secure one-fourth of the theatre’s annual operations budget.
