On Thursday, June 8, Fort Worth Independent School District is sponsoring the 24th annual Hiring Fair, at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in the Exhibits Hall from noon to 4 p.m.

The Hiring Fair is open to 2017 seniors and recent graduates of Fort Worth ISD, ages 17-21, and will host over 100 employers who represent more than 500 businesses. Admission is free, but open to job applicants only, and no children are allowed at the event.

Fort Worth ISD recommends job applicants “dress for success” and wear clean, conservative, neatly pressed clothing in dark, solid colors with minimal accessories to make the best impression on employers.

Partners for the 2017 Hiring Fair include the Fort Worth Chamber, Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber, Fort Worth Metropolitan Black Chamber, the Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains, Goodwill Industries of Fort Worth, VolunteerNow and Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County.

According to FWISD, this is one of the largest employer-attended job fairs in Fort Worth and Tarrant County. The fair will represent full-time, part-time, entry-level, year-round and summer employment opportunities. Some attending employers also offer tuition assistance programs for recent graduates looking to get a job to help pay for secondary education.

“In addition to a room packed with employers, a variety of engaging activities and surprises are in place to assist young job seekers to ‘Present Their Best’ to employers,” said Lila Boydston, event coordinator, in a news release. “At the core of this event is the provision of an amazing number of job and career opportunities as well as tools to empower the young job seekers!”
