Newsmakers Stacy Marshall to lead Southeast Fort Worth Inc.
Business strategist and consultant Stacy E. Marshall has been named executive director of Southeast Fort Worth Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to the revitalization of South and East Fort Worth.
Marshall, a former president and chief executive officer of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, has worked in business development and as a consultant for various nonprofit and for-profit organizations. He has consulted on corporate and organizational management, grants and financing, media activity and government relations and public affairs.
Marshall has served numerous North Texas professional organizations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives North Texas Chapter, Society for Professional Journalists, National Association of Black Journalists, Society for Marketing Professional Services and the National Association of Health Services Executives. He currently serves on the board for West Dallas Community Centers Inc. and the Kelly Alert Foundation. Marshall maintains ties to his hometown with pro bono consulting to the Mayersville Mississippi Youth Development Committee.

Erika Aguirre joined J.O. as a public relations account executive. Aguirre spent the last year at Lopez Negrete Communications as a public relations and social media community manager. She brings several years of experience working for agencies such as FleishmanHillard and clients, including Verizon, Chevron, Samsung, Walmart and Dow Chemical.
Sean Fitzgerald is now director of the North America corporate and public affairs practice for Ketchum. Fitzgerald has been with Ketchum for 15 years. Most recently he served as executive vice president of Ketchum Greater China, based in Shanghai.
Banking & Finance
Baird added The GCE Group to its Fort Worth office. The team, which joins from UBS Financial Services, includes financial advisers Rebecca Gadus, senior vice president; Jeffrey Carroll, vice president; and Tyson Eubanks, vice president. The team is joined by senior client specialist Sheri Burns. Gadus started her career in the financial services industry in 1992 with the former brokerage firm J.C. Bradford. She moved to Wachovia Securities in 2001 before joining UBS in 2004. Carroll joined UBS in 2004. Previously he was a financial adviser with Wachovia and Merrill Lynch, where he began his career in 1992. Eubanks began his career as a financial adviser in 2008 with UBS.

Cynthia L. Blankenship, vice chairman and chief operating officer of Bank of the West in Grapevine, was re-elected as services network chairman on the executive committee of the Independent Community Bankers of America for 2015-2016.
Education
Joanne Woodard has been named the new vice president for diversity and inclusion at the University of North Texas. Woodard starts her position this summer. She has more than 25 years of experience in higher education, most recently as vice provost for institutional equity and diversity and chief diversity officer at North Carolina State University. Woodard also oversees four centers that serve the North Carolina State community and ensures support for the recruitment and retention of a diverse faculty, staff and student body. She has won multiple awards for her diversity work, including two in 2014: the Leadership in Diversity award from the Triangle Business Journal and the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award from Insight into Diversity. Woodard began at North Carolina State in 1997 as the vice provost for Equal Opportunity and Equity. She has been a lecturer in history at North Carolina State and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
Chinten Parikh is the new director of equal opportunity for UNT System Human Resources. Parikh is responsible for strategic and operational activities related to statutory and regulatory requirements for affirmative action, equal opportunity, the Americans with Disabilities Act, veterans’ preference and organizational diversity. He also is responsible for policies and training related to discrimination and harassment, equal opportunity compliance and non-discriminatory hiring procedures. Parikh formerly was senior consultant for diversity, compliance and cultural competency at Baylor Scott & White Health Care System, manager of workplace diversity and development at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and director of diversity and people development at Accor North America. He has the senior professional certification from the Society for Human Resources Management and is affiliated with the Texas Diversity Council, Dallas Human Resources Management Association and the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce.

Charles B. Milliken, managing partner of the Decker Jones law firm, has been named the 2015 Professional Advisor of the Year by the Community Foundation of North Texas.
John W. Proctor has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Proctor, the managing partner of Brown Dean, has more than 30 years of experience in civil trial law and is board-certified in civil trial law. He represents railroad and aircraft manufacturers in personal injury and wrongful death litigation.
USMD Hospital at Arlington and USMD Hospital at Fort Worth received the 2014 Women’s Choice Award for being voted to the list of America’s Best Hospitals for Patient Experience by women.
Allied Electronics received the Silver Award for Distributor of the Year from Honeywell Sensing and Control.
The Fulcrum Group Inc. has been awarded a 2015 Digium Pinnacle Partner award in the category of North American Resellers. The company was selected based on 2014 sales and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Burns & McDonnell Inc. earned a National Recognition Award for exemplary engineering achievement at the American Council of Engineering Companies’ 49th annual Engineering Excellence Awards. The company was honored for the EnwaveUSA Biomedical District Steam Plant in New Orleans.
Insurance
Higginbotham hired Claire Florsheim as health risk management and wellness consultant. She joins the firm’s Fort Worth office in its employee benefits department, which serves customers throughout the state. Florsheim was most recently a wellness consultant for JPS Health Network, where she managed the hospital’s employee wellness program and provided nutrition counseling at its onsite employee health clinic. She also was a health and wellness program coordinator for Dairy MAX. She started her career at Southern Methodist University as a campus dietitian developing menus for on-campus dining and providing nutrition counseling to students, faculty, staff and athletes.
Nonprofit Organizations
Tarrant Area Food Bank named Charles Boswell as its first director of public policy. An alumnus of Texas Christian University, where he is an adjunct professor in political science, Boswell is a former Fort Worth city manager, past district director for then-State Sen. Wendy Davis and immediate past president of the TAFB board.
The North Texas Commission added Taylor Schrang as public policy and innovative programs manager. She will lead the commission’s NTx Start-Up Challenge event and environmental programs and will serve as the government relations liaison. In addition, she will help manage Leadership North Texas. Schrang is a team member of Pedal & Plow, a documentary Web series chronicling the host’s bike ride across South America researching sustainable agriculture. She also served on the city of Denton’s (Re)Imagine the city forum and as an ambassador for the Dallas Entrepreneurship Center.

Larry Corson has been appointed co-president of Wilbow Corp. Corson was previously director of residential development for Cooper & Stebbins, where he was responsible for the development of the Garden District enclave in Southlake Town Square. Before that, he was president and CEO of Crescent Resources in Charlotte, N.C., and was senior vice president of Hunt Realty Investments, the real estate investment arm of Hunt Oil Co. In the 1990s, Corson ran portfolio companies focused on residential and golf course development as a principal with Westbrook Partners. Early in his career, he had positions with J.E. Robert Co., Trammell Crow Ventures and Jones Lang Wootton Realty Advisors. Corson serves the Urban Land Institute as chairman of the national Recreation Development Council and is an assistant chairman of the Community Development Council in North Texas. He also served as mayor pro tem of the Town of Westlake and as a trustee of Westlake Academy.
Technology
Dallas-based Columbia Advisory Group hired David D. Maxwell as leader of its information security practice. Maxwell joins CAG after 16 years with Alcon, most recently as the company’s global information technology head of information governance and management security. Maxwell started at Alcon as manager of Internet applications. Prior to Alcon, hel was the manager of electronic development for the Dallas Morning News/AH Belo. He began his IT career at Justin Boot Co.
